TANKA

Name
Tanka

Description
TANKA” is a Japanese term that conveys the idea of “brevity” or “simplicity of forms”. Its importance in Japanese culture is evident in art, design, gastronomy, etc. In its oldest version it is translated as "short poem".
I think that the "TANKA" chair reflects the same idea, which is not contradicted by the wealth of influences visible in it: It has something of Hoffman's Thonet, the American Windsor, but it also reminds us of Gaudí's ramified pillars of the Sagrada Familia, and of course the "Teak style" of the fifties, especially Wegner's YPSILON chair.
